Students planting fruit trees

In this project, we currently work with four eco-schools in Kkingo subcounty where we work with young people in schools to take control of their lives and their Environment through Environment clubs, sensitize them about climate change and tree planting where both fruit and non fruit trees are planted in schools and neighbouring communities.

The young people engage their leaders on issues affecting the environment in their community. This helps to bring up responsible citizens with a heart of environment stewardship.

Students are also trained in basic agricultural practices where they raise vegetable nursery beds and grow vegetables in their school gardens which they use at school to improve their nutrition.

students and pupils in secondary and primary schools respectively are sensitised on climate change, management of key natural resources in their communities especially wetlands and forests. Students are also sensitised on waste management other key issues that deteriorate the quality of our environment and bring about environmental degradation.
